DAY FIVE IN ECUADOR WAS A FULL SEND KIND OF DAY. THE KIND WHERE ECUADOR REMINDS YOU WHY YOU TRAVELED ALL THIS WAY. WE CHASED THE BEST VIEWS, CROSSED A FEW THINGS OFF OUR BUCKET LIST, AND ATE REALLY WELL IN BETWEEN IT ALL. BAÑOS IS PERFECT FOR DAYS LIKE THIS BECAUSE EVERYTHING IS CLOSE, EASY TO GET TO, AND FULL OF ADVENTURE FROM START TO FINISH.

EARLY MORNINGS AT CAFÉ DEL CIELO

We started the morning at Café del Cielo, which ended up being one of our favorite breakfast spots in Baños! The café sits high above the mountains, and the views are unreal. It’s the kind of place where you automatically slow down and take everything in.

We grabbed coffee and breakfast to fuel up for the day ahead. Simple, well made food, warm plates, and fresh ingredients. It was an easy, relaxed start before heading into a full day of exploring and adventure.

SWINGS, LEDGES, AND TREETOP VIEWS AT MIRADOR MIRAMERA

Mirador Miramera is a must visit if you’re in Baños and love adrenaline paired with unforgettable views. Everything here feels designed to push you just enough outside your comfort zone.

The giant swing was first and I’m not even kidding when I say it happened so fast. One second you’re standing there thinking “ok I got this” and the next you’re flying straight out over the valley. It’s scary, but in the best way, and the views make it completely worth it. Easily one of those things you have to do at least once!

Then we did the floating ledge, which somehow felt even scarier once I was actually standing on it. You’re just out there, suspended in the air, with mountains everywhere you look. It’s one of those moments where you forget everything else and just take it all in.

We wrapped things up with the treetop walk, which gave us a slower, quieter way to enjoy the rainforest from above. It was the perfect balance after all the adrenaline.

ZIPLINING AT MEGA ADVENTURE PARK RÍO BLANCO

Next up was Mega Adventure Park Río Blanco, and this was hands down one of the most exciting experiences of the trip!

We pulled up and immediately realized this wasn’t just some zip line course. Everything is right in the middle of the rainforest, so it already feels intense before you even get geared up. After a quick rundown, we clipped in and were sent off one by one.

The second your feet leave the platform, it’s over. You’re flying above the river, trees everywhere, wind in your face, and zero time to overthink it. Each line just keeps getting better, and by the end we were already talking about how we’d do it again.

DINNER IN BAÑOS

We wrapped up the day at Honey Coffee & Tea, and it was exactly what we needed after everything we did today. Calm, cozy, and not rushed at all. The food was light but still filling, and it was the perfect place to sit and decompress.

By that point we were tired, but in a good way. Sitting there, eating, and talking through everything we just did felt like the perfect way to end the day before heading back to our hotel for a relaxing evening in.

And just when we thought this trip couldn’t get better, Ecuador had more in store! Head to our Day 6 in Ecuador blog to keep following along. 🌿
